Backuppen voor TimeBackup?

Vanavond eens de stoute schoenen aangetrokken en TimeBackup geïnstalleerd...
Dat heb ik geweten! Gelukkig ben ik een reuze voorzichtig mens die niets doet zonder een goede backup en dat kwam nu eens van pas:

What happened?

Na installatie en starten via de package manager het ding maar eens gestart. Tot mijn niet geringe verbazing werden alle lopende processen (dus ook mijn websites) pontificaal gestopt :shock:
Een hoop gereutel en geratel verder kreeg ik een weliswaar gelikt scherm, maar aan de praat krijgen ho maar: de ene foutmelding op de andere en een orgie van berichten in de DSM...
Dan maar stopzetten en eens kijken wat er zoal plaats vond op mijn systeem. Daartoe ingelogd via Putty en MC gestart. MC gestart?!? Vergeet het maar! Dan maar eens kijken wat daarmee gebeurd is. MC staat normaal (via IPKG geïnstalleerd) in /opt/bin.
Wat schetst mijn verbazing: de hele /opt directory was LEEG!!!
AAAARGH! Alle IPKG installaties om zeep geholpen.

Gelukkig was een en ander snel gerepareerd door een eigen(...) backup terug te zetten.

Vervolgens kom ik er ook nog achter dat men en passant ook nog even mijn smb.conf had 'gerepareerd'. Ik heb daar een aantal modificaties in staan. Lekker... maar niet heus.

Ik vraag mij af of er meer mensen zijn die deze fenomenen hebben meegemaakt.

Fijn clubje die mannen van syno. Ik blijf voorlopig ver weg van timebackup. Ik heb het even kort getest op een nieuwe ds710 en had daar geen problemen maar ja....die was out of the box..
