Ik heb een DS1813+ Momenteel 27 dagen up. Raid 5 + hotspare (gelukkig)
Deze ochtend zag ik toevallig dat de led voor disk 4 niet brandde.
Ik heb begin januari geupgrade naar firmware DSM 5.2-5644 Update 2
Volgens de log zou er op 27/1 een degrade van de raid gebeurd zijn en kon disk 4 niet meer gedetecteerd worden.
Toen ik dit vanmorgen in mijn logs las, heb ik even disk 4 er volledig uit gehaald en dan terug geinsert.
Tot mijn verbazing begon kort daarop de led te branden.
Blijkbaar is de drive dus niet dood, aangezien ik hem zelfs terug als hotspare kon inschakelen.
Onder health info van de storage manager is de SMART info "Normal" voor disk 4 (ondertussen 19046 hours power-on time, 511 bad sector count.
Quick smart test uitgevoerd: Normal.
Ik voer nu een extended smart test uit.
Nu graag jullie advies. Zijn deze smart testen voldoende mocht straks blijken dat ook de extended test normaal doorlopen wordt of moet ik hem terug uithalen en aan mijn pc koppelen en zo testen eer ik zeker weet of hij betrouwbaar is. Hoe pak ik dit best aan ?
569 minuten zou een extended smart test duren. 10 uur wachten lijkt me wel smartelijk lang om te weten of ik een nieuwe disk moet kopen of niet.
Als dit alles op een sisser uitdraait en mijn disk blijkt ok, wat is er dan eigenlijk misgelopen dat dit gebeurd is ?
Ik heb de email notificatie aangepast want deze was blijkbaar nog niet goed ingesteld. Ik hoop voortaan tijdig messages te ontvangen. Test was al succesvol. Moet ik het swap probleem ook nog aanpakken of is alles nu ok? De recentste system event is dat de consistency check of group 1 has ended op 28/1
Het verwarrende is dat ik recent nog ingelogd had in de admin console en daar steeds bij system health "good" zie staan.
