Received invitation via email today, however registration fails. Registration: log in user account and password is okay. Then a request to provide 6 digit code with app Secure SignIn. Instead of Secure SignIn I'm using Authy. 6 digit code fails. No email received with 6 digit code, also not in spam folders. Questions: how to register? Why suddenly Secure SignIn to be used while there are other simular apps like Authenticator, Authy etc. Why does Synology select this Secure SignIn app? Is it correct this (Secure SignIn) works only with DSM 7 (together with specific package)? I do not have DSM 7, but still 6.2 How to register for this Webinar Photos?

Schakel verificatie in twee stappen in om uw Synology-account beter te beschermen. We adviseren u een Android- of iOS-apparaat te gebruiken dat compatibel is met Synology Secure SignIn.

Instead of Secure SignIn I'm using Authy.

Ik weet niet of Authy compatible is met Synology Secure SignIn die Synology aan haar kant gebruikt voor Verificatie in twee stappen.
Je hebt immers zelf de Verificatie in twee stappen toch ingesteld ?

Verder heeft dit dus helemaal niets te maken met welke DSM Versie gebruikt.

En ik vraag me af of het in Nederlands beter zou zijn. Je bent afhankelijk van een deskundige spreker. Als ze er een Nederlands sprekend persoon bij moeten halen die nauwelijks praktijk ervaring met dat pakket heeft, kan een Engelstalig webinar door een expert een stuk leerzamer zijn.

Birdy thanks! Release Notes for Secure SignIn-service Version: 1.0.2-0117
Users who are using Google Authenticator for OTP authentication and want to switch to Synology Secure SignIn mobile app must reconfigure OTP settings in DSM. Please note that doing so will automatically log out all Synology services that require 2-factor authentication. Users will need to sign in to these services again afterwards.
Compatibility and Installation
Secure SignIn Service is compatible with DSM 7.0 and above.    As said before when I want to register with Webinar it asks for 6 digit code derived from Secure SignIn. As I'm using DSM 6  Secure SignIn doesn't work for me (See Relase Note's). Authy works fine when I log in (2FA) as Admin to my DSM 6. So I cannot register nor log in to my Synology (Web) account anymore.

Nou, die "Frank Doorhof" die er aan het eind aan te pas komt die het pakket heeft uitgetest is gewoon een Nederlandse fotograaf.
Dat gedeelte "zou dan net zo goed " in het Nederlands kunnen.
Maar ja, dan snappen die Taiwanezen het waarschijnlijk niet meer wat die vertelt.

It was possible to use 2FA to log in (admin) to my DS118 (DSM 6), using Authy.
When logging to te registrer to this Webinar, the 6 digits (Authy) were invalid (other log in credentials such as user name and pw were accepted).


Solved! DDNS visit DDNS account (from within Synology) Synology Account, logged in and used one of the 6 digit emergency codes to complete the log in. Then click Profile, Security and disable 2FA. Now I'm able to log in to the Synology (web) accounts, register the Webinar without 2FA. After deployment of DSM 7 I will use Secure SignIn as supported by Synology (DSM 7 onwards).

@Briolet, je hebt qua kennis wel gelijk, maar ik heb er echt moeite mee om dat Engels te volgen.
Maar het is zoals het is.
T.z.t kom ik er wel achter hoe het allemaal werkt!!

Misschien ben ik ook geen doorsnee, want ik heb zelf ook regelmatig lezingen in het Engels moeten geven.

Ik heb altijd het idee dat als je je een beetje inspant, je zo'n andere taal die je op zich al geleerd hebt, wel gaat verstaan. Het meest verbaas ik me over Nederlanders die het Nederlands met een andere tongval niet verstaan. In mijn jonge jaren werd Nederlands nooit ondertitelt, maar tegenwoordig wordt iedereen met een klein spraak gebrek of een licht accent, ondertiteld. En dan heb ik het niet over zware dialecten, maar over Friezen of Limburgers die gewoon Nederlands praten, maar nog wel een accent hebben.
In Vlaanderen is het niet anders. Komt de acteur uit het Gentse gewest, dan gaan ze het ook ondertitelen.

Terug naar het onderwerp ook als is daar inhoudelijk nog niet veel over te melden.
