DSM User acounts in Synology Photos DSM 7.0

Is het niet veel verstandiger om al je foto's in de persoonlijk ruimte op te slaan en van daaruit te gaan delen met andere gebruikers? Dan loop je ook minder risico dat je foto's zichtbaar maakt die echt als privé bedoeld zijn.

Daar heb je inderdaad gelijk in. Maar dat is bijna net zoveel werk of misschien wel meer en bied niet het resultaat als dat de gedeelde ruimte doet.

Ik heb een paar maal heen en weer geschreven met Synology vanmiddag. Iedere keer een heel snel antwoord terug dus dat was wel fijn. Conclusie..Ik deed het gewoon wel goed. Maar wat ik wil kan niet meer. Het zit nu gewoon anders in elkaar. En er is eigenlijk geen conversieslag wat rechten aangaat. Wat je in Photostation had ingesteld is gewoon weg dus.
Hij geeft onderstaand als antwoord:

the operation of album sharing is a little different on Synology photos as you have seen.
Because our current design, you cannot select multiple folders to set up sharing.
you need to select a single folder and activate a share link
and then you must assign  Between " Entry"  or 'Management' sharing rights to define the access permissions

The sharing feature in Synology photos is different from photo station

and by design the "Timeline" feature is available when the partner recipient has "management" permissions with "input" he can see that by folder and the sharing is done folder by folder
Different between management and entry to a shared space.
1. Without any permission, you cannot see the shared space
2. With the entry permission you can see the shared space but you will need permission for the albums / folders.
3. With management permission, you are in control. and so you can see everything
4. Entry user without mobile backup enabled cannot save photos to shared space.
 
but if you change from Input to Management, it will be able to access the shared photos.
 
Where to set the authorization for the Entry user.

Ik heb hem wel geschreven dat ik dus folders heb vanaf 1969 tot 2021 en ieder jaar 12 folders voor maanden heeft. En dat ik 8 users heb die niet allemaal het gelijke mogen zien. En daarop schreef hij dit:

Your suggestion is however very interesting. I will pass it on so that we can develop it quickly.
On my side, I will launch two procedures simultaneously:
The first one:
I will create a ticket for our Project Manager teams in Taiwan, describing the desired behavior so that the procedure can be expedited. Please note that the operation will also close the support ticket.
However, you can create a new ticket if a new problem should arise.
Second:
In order to maximize the chances of development, I will also forward the feature request to our product manager teams in France.
Thanks again for the suggestion, it seems really appropriate and would allow a noticeable improvement of our products.

Ik hoop dat ze er iets mee doen. Voor nu..Ik begrijp hoe het zit. En er wacht een hoop werk, maar goed. eenmaal gedaan en dan is het ook geregeld. Ik vind het missen van de tijdlijn als gebruiker vervelender.
In ieder geval is het nu echt zeker dat rechten op gedeelde map geven of ACL inschakelen echt helemaal geen nut heeft omdat Photo zijn eigen rechten verleend. Ik heb nu voor 1 gebruiker de rechten gezet op 25 fotomappen en de Photo map (dus de gedeelde map) heeft alleen maar de groep Administrators. Dus daar ligt het niet aan en helpt ook niet verder om daarmee te sleutelen.
Allemaal vriendelijk bedankt voor de tijd en moeite die jullie erin gestoken hebben. Ben weer wijzer en erg blij met dit forum
