Hello,
after months of work, I'm proud to announce SynoDS ! :D
SynoDS is an iPhone and iPod Touch native client for Synology's Download Station
It should be available soon on the AppStore, but until then you can check the video presentation of the application here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcu0iD9TJLQ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcu0iD9TJLQ)
Feature list :
- Configure several servers and choose the one to connect to
- Support standard and SSL connections
- Show the list of download tasks running on the server
- Sort the download tasks by status, name, progress or size
- You can filter (search) in your download task
- You can start/pause/delete your download tasks
- You can see details about the download task and configure options
- You can add a download task from URL (and can use a specific username/password)
- You can use the embedded browser to browse to some files and tap on a download link to add a download task on your server (Browser is featuring bookmark support !)
- Compatible with socks and http proxy connections
- Nice iPhone look&feel with Pull to refresh feature and swipe to delete
- Landscape mode
- Support for iPhone 4's Retina Display
- Compatible with iOS3.x and iOS4.x devices
This thread will be a place to discuss about the application, discuss about issues and wanted features ;)
I hope you'll enjoy it !

That sounds (and looks) very good! I ordered my Synology yesterday an will certainly download this iphone app. Great work!
-
Would be great if you could make this work on Android with the SABnzbd add-on.
So, have fun coding!

Coding for Android is quite different from iPhone coding because the programmatic language is not the same (Objective-C for iPhone and Java for Android) ! It means that having the same on Android would require to rewrite almost all of the code, and my skills in java are not the best ! So, I'm sorry, but it won't happen (from me at least) :?

Hi,
If you're looking for an Android version, check out SynoLoad (iPhone/iPad/Android/Symbian/WinMob). It doesn't support SABnzbd for now, but if others request it, I will certainly add the feature !

Jérôme

@Jérôme: first complaining about other apps in the thread about SynoLoad, and now promoting SynoLoad in the thread of SynoDS... And no, it's not against forum rules, but this double moral just surprises me..

Hi Bjorn,
Exactly, you taught me that it was common practice to tell users that other products existed... Someone is looking for an application for Android, so I give them a name.

Jérôme

As i said it's not against forum rules. It even is a usefull answer. Just that you protested so much when other people posted Info about mynzb in your thread makes it funny.

Like we say in France (I don't know if it exists in other languages) "Only stupids don't change their mind"... :) I protested, but you made me change my mind.
But let's go back to the roots of the topic:
Where is SynoDS ? Not yet available on the AppStore ?
Thanks,
Jérôme

SynoDS is now available here : http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/synods/id385468726?mt=8 (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/synods/id385468726?mt=8)

I use SABnzb, will this be supported in the near future? If this is added this is the app I want!

Unfortunately SABnzb will not be supported in a near future because :
- It's not integrated in the Synology, so everybody don't have it
- It's not specific to Synology and it should be a different application
- Iphone/iPad application to connect to SABnzb are already existing (look for myNZB on the appStore)

It would be great if it would support webdav. Great app nevertheless.

Hi Michel, thanks for the feedback !
Could you details how webdav support could be useful in SynoDS ( = A description of the way you would use webdav with SynoDS) ?
Thanks,
Sylver

I would like to connect to the synology and direct downloads to it, even when I am not at home. I thought that maybe this would be possible with Webdav.

I have a problem with 3G connection. In wifi synoload and ds photo does work, but in the 3G connection not.
Is there anyone who can help me?
Thnx Linkerd.

Hi,
I guess the best would be to post on the synoload topic :)
Anyway, you need to forward the 5000 port in your router to your NAS ip address.

You have to configure your router port forwarding for that !
Create a public port that point to port 5000 of your sinology's ip then in synods configure your public ip and public port instead of local ip and port 5000 !

Is this also working on an iPad?

Is this also working on an iPad?
SynoDS is also working on an iPad if it is your question !
Connecting from a 3G network is working on an iPad 3G, and with an iPad wifi you CAN connect from a public wifi for exemple !

Thank you, I will give it a try
