Opgelost: Synology DS212J niet te benaderen

Hallo,

Sinds vanmiddag de trotse eigenaar van een DS212J met 2x 2TB erin zitten. Mooi plekje gegeven in de meterkast bij de modem etc.

Echter, het gaat bij stap 1 al mis: zodra de Synology Assistant op zoek gaat naar de NAS is deze onvindbaar: zie bijlage 1 voor de foutmelding. Alle firewalls etc zijn uitgeschakeld en ja ik ben verbonden met het netwerk.

Als ik vervolgens inlog op de overzichtspagina van mn modem/router, dan is de NAS wel degelijk zichtbaar! (bijlage 2)

Ik ben een redelijke noob op het gebied van netwerken etc en heb geen idee waar ik moet beginnen om dit probleem op te lossen. Alle hulp is daarom welkom

Beste wat je even kan doen is je DS212j rechtstreeks aan je computer te koppelen met een UTP kabel. Beide systemen overnieuw opstarten. Dan zal de Synology assistent de DS wel vinden.

Dank Hofstede voor je antwoord. Ik heb m nu rechtsstreeks op de computer aangesloten en beiden apparaten opnieuw opgestart, maar krijg nog steeds dezelfde meldingen. Ik heb verschillende kabeltjes geprobeerd (allen 'gewone' netwerkkabels)

In m'n zoektocht naar antwoorden kwam ik dit tegen op het 'officiële' Syno forum:

Today I spent half an hour on the phone with Sang from Synology Customer Support in the US and we seem to have worked it out. I'm pleased to report that I was able to get the Synology Assistant to "see" my DS211 and install the DSM software onto the unit.

For some reason, the Assistant was not "seeing" the DS211 while both hard drives were installed in the enclosure. After going through all the usual initial tech support questions - (have you turned of your wireless? are you sure that your firewall isn't blocking the device? have you tried the installation with another ethernet cable / computer?) Sang suggested that I remove both hard drives from the enclosure and try running the assistant..

To my amazement it worked... with no HDD in the DS211 the device was visible to the assistant.. I then tried running the Assistant with only one HDD in at a time.. and again the device was visible to the assistant. It was only when both disks were in the DS211 that the Assistant could not pick up the DS211. Sang was not able to explain why this was the case - but I was so relieved to have a solution that I didn't worry too much.

So, at Sang's suggestion I ran the Assistant with just the one drive - and used that to install the DSM software onto the DS211. Once the software was installed on the DS211, I powered down, put the second drive into the enclosure, powered up and accessed the DSM software direct from the web link - as the Assistant was no longer required. The DSM software detected the second drive - and I proceeded to create the RAID volume.

I suspect it may be a firmware issue that led to the Assistant not seeing my device on the network. Aside from today, this has been quite a painful experience spanning a couple of weeks. If anyone from Synology is reading this, please take note given that there appear to be a few similar comments / threads elsewhere on these forums. Big thanks to Sang... for having the patience to go through everything with me.

Nu blijkt dat de NAS prima gevonden wordt door de Assistant als er geen schijven in zitten, en ook als ik er één schijf in stop wordt ie gevonden en kan ik DSM installeren. Echter, als ik de 2e schijf er bij doe (ik doe t precies zoals beschreven in de quote) dan blijft de blauwe led knipperen en doet ie verder niks meer. Ook doet de NAS t niet als ik de 'één-schijf-configuratie' toepas met de harde schijf in de bovenste sleuf..

Dit schurkt mijn inziens tegen een defect product aan.. ?

Mogelijk. Je zou kunnen proberen die tweede schijf in een PC te testen. Mogelijk heeft die harde schijf een probleem waarmee hij de werking van het Diskstation verstoord. Is de schijf goed dan zou ik inderdaad het Diskstation verdenken.

Nieuwe DS212j gekregen en ook twee nieuwe harde schijven.. Nu lukt t meteen, probleem was dus hardwarematig.
