Ik heb het scenario van
@Hofstede op m'n DS411Slim ook even uitgevoerd (1 HD 80GB in SHR zonder data protectie)
Werkt gewoon goed dus, je kunt dit rustig uitvoeren, als je root bent:
Note: Als je toch zekerheid wilt hebben, zou je 1 HD eruit kunnen halen als backup (neem aan dat je SHR/RAID1 draait) en die pieptoon (degradatie) uitzetten, ander wordt je gek

Als je dus die HD eruit hebt gehaald: Shutdown de NAS weer en stop die HD er weer en repair.
